Request or Question
I would like to know how much SBC gave `to the Duns Summer Festival by way of a grant for the years- 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024? Also does the Council request details of how the grants are used to finance the festival.
Also what are the conditions attached to the award of the grants each year.
I also would like to know the amount of subsidy SBC gave for the running of the Pingo Bus Service in Berwickshire in the financial years- 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and also this current financial year 2024/2025? I would also like to know the total bus subsidy including that for the Pingo Service for the whole of the Scottish Borders paid out in the financial years- 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, 2023/2024 and this financial year 2024/2025 The Pingo Service only started in 2022 and is in it's 3rd year. Could I also get total passenger numbers for the Pingo Service for each of 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 years separately?

Yes. Festivals are required to submit an application form in order to claim their local festival grant. Annual grants awarded to Festival Committees are principally to assist with the cost of public liability insurance and public protection measures. The application form specifically asks for a breakdown of how the grant will be spent.
When applying, a festival must agree to the Scottish Borders Council Local Festival Grant Scheme Standard Terms and Conditions of Grant. These are attached.
