Tenants have the right to complain should they think their letting agent is breaking any rules, including: not doing repairs; charging illegal fees; eviction without following the proper steps. If complaint does not resolve an issue, tenants can apply to the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland (Housing and Property Chamber). Occasionally Housing Strategy will receive query in relation to letting agent activity and direct tenants accordingly. However we suspect most instances are raised directly to the relevant organisation. 4. And the enforcement activity available to us relates to that service. Whilst we provide information and advice in relation to landlord obligations such as property standards and management, enforcement is the responsibility of The Housing and Property Chamber, or under certain circumstances Police Scotland. We don t routinely collate information progressed through the chamber therefore are unable to accurately advise on resolution.
