- Request or Question
- 1. How much has your local authority set as the amount to pay council-owned and run care homes, per week, for both nursing and residential care? 2. How much did the local authority pay for nursing and residential care, per week, each year in the previous two financial years to council owned and run care homes?
- Response
- Scottish Borders Council do not set a defined cap on a care home budget as service users are assessed against an eligibility criterion to meet their needs and there is scope within the budget to flex costs to ensure those needs are met. The budget allocation for care homes is regularly monitored and managed by Senior commissioning and operational staff as part of the Authority s financial policy, procedures and standards 2022/23 2023/24 7,667,681.68 8,198,285.96 2023/24 figure is to date 19/04/2024, year end still to be completed so figure could change slightly.
