1. How many care homes does Scottish Borders Council a) own and b) operate? SBC operate 6 care homes (1 of which is an intermediate care service) and own 5.
2. How many residents are in your care? 163
3. Of those, how many are privately funded? All residents in Scottish Borders Council care homes are subject to financial assessment under the Council Charing Policy and charges applied based on their individual circumstances and means.
4. Referring to question 2, how many residents receive a) residential care and b) nursing care? Scottish Borders Council care homes provide residential care only.
5. What is your current weekly charge for privately funded residents? Please specify per home (unless standard across your network) and outline the charge for a) residential and b) nursing care. All clients are financially assessed and if they have capital above the maximum threshold then they pay the full charge 805.38. Further information on fees and charges is available here
6. What is the proposed rate from 1 April 2024. Again, please specify per home (unless standard across your network) and outline the charge for a) residential and b) nursing care. SBC Care Home Rate for 2023/24 is 572.28 after receiving Free Personal Care allowance of 233.10.
