- Abbotsford lies at the eastern end of Galashiels near Melrose. Abbotsford House and grounds are famous for being the home of Sir Walter Scott. The six routes in the booklet explore the designed landscape that at one time all fell within the policies. There is a charge to visit the gardens. The visitor centre has an exhibition, shop and restaurant.
