Councillor Robin Tatler, Executive Member for Community Development and Localities

“Area Partnerships are ideal way for people to become involved in the decision making process at a local level. You can find out more about issues affecting your locality and in turn, give us your views about how we and our Community Planning partners can provide better services in your area.

“As well as the more regular agenda items mentioned above, updates from local community members are also welcome as are topics you would like included in future discussions.

“We would encourage as many people as possible to attend their next meeting as they really are a way for you to have your say and influence what happens in your local area.”

More information

Area Partnerships are an opportunity for Borders residents to participate in an informal discussion and debate about the challenges and opportunities they see affecting their area. They bring together key organisations, groups, businesses and individuals from across the public, private and third sectors and from within local communities to collectively work together.

The Community Fund scheme is divided up between each of the five Area Partnerships - Berwickshire, Cheviot, Eildon, Teviot and Liddesdale and Tweeddale. It provides support and assistance with the development of community-based projects for voluntary and community groups that are active in their local area.

The Build Back a Better Borders Recovery Fund is available for one-off new initiatives and projects and has been divided between the five localities of Berwickshire, Cheviot, Eildon, Teviot and Liddesdale and Tweeddale. It is open from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2022 and is available to both constituted groups (maximum £15k) and non-constituted groups (maximum £5k, with payment through an umbrella body). A fast track process is available for applications of up to £1.5k. Funding will be allocated on a one-off basis only.
