Local businesses are being reminded that they have until 5pm on Friday 10 July to submit applications for the Scottish Government’s coronavirus business funds which we are delivering locally.

The schemes are being closed by the Scottish Government and we cannot process any applications received after the closing date.

The eligibility criteria for the Business Support Fund has been extended and amended since initially being launched, with tenants and occupiers of shared spaces able to apply, as well as companies with multiple premises.

It will close to new applications next Friday, as will the Newly Self Employed Hardship Fund and the B&B Hardship Fund. The eligibility criteria for this latter fund has also changed, so businesses are urged to check the latest information.

Full eligibility details and online application forms can be found on our website.

To date, we have processed more than £29m of grants for local firms through the above schemes.

If any business is unsure if they are eligible or need advice on submitting an application they should call 0300 100 1800.

Tracey Logan, Chief Executive

“More than 2,800 applications to these funds have been successful in the Scottish Borders but there may still be eligible businesses who could benefit from these grants.

“New applications must be received by 5pm on Friday 10 July, so I would encourage any business that has put off applying for whatever reason to check our website for the full eligibility criteria and then make an application as soon as possible.
