Jedburgh mobile recycling pilot service update

community recycling centres

Published: Friday, 4th October 2019

Thank you to all who have used the Jedburgh mobile recycling pilot service so far and completed our online survey on a potential Borders-wide new mobile recycle service.

Service will not run on Sunday 27 October

Following discussions with the organisers of the Jedburgh Running Festival, we have decided not to run the mobile recycling pilot service on Sunday 27 October to avoid a clash with the popular event which also uses the Glebe Car Park.

Last grass cuttings and hedge clippings accepted on Sunday 3 November

In addition, grass cuttings and hedge clippings will no longer be accepted by the pilot service after Sunday 3 November. This is in line with our guidance when the pilot began, which advised that these materials would be accepted for the first two months only, to cover the main gardening calendar.

Take part in survey

A survey continues to run on our CitizenSpace consultation website which aims to gauge public use and reaction in Jedburgh and the surrounding area, and Borders-wide interest in a potential new service. We continue to ask public to complete the survey to allow a fully informed decision to be made next year.

Full details of the service are available.
