The final works on the A72 between the Nest Rounadabout and Walkerburn are due to take place on Monday 15 and Wednesday 17 July.

The works were due to take place on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July but the wet weather has meant the works have been postponed until 15 and 17 July.

The Holylee to Thornielee section of the road will be resurfaced on both days. However, the road will remain open, with a convoy system in place between 8am and 5pm.

The road will be fully open on Tuesday 16 July, with a 20mph speed restriction.

It follows a three-day closure from 1 to 3 July on the same section of the A72 for essential patching ahead of the resurfacing.

We would like to thank the travelling public for all their patience with the 1 to 3 July closure which allowed the workers to operate in a safe manner without the risk of passing vehicles.

By allowing the road to be closed, it means the works could be carried out much quicker.

The road will remain open on 15 and 17 July during the resurfacing but motorists are advised to expect delays.
