Transport Interchange raises the bar with new tenant

The latest tenant in the Galashiels Transport Interchange has raised a few eyebrows. 

Eyebrow specialist Misty Crew has moved into the prominent building, constructed in 2015 to coincide with the launch of the Borders Railway and to provide a link between bus and rail services.  

The Scottish Beauty Industry Awards 2019 finalist is the latest firm to move into the facility which leaves just one unit available to rent in the Transport Interchange.

The opening of Misty’s brow bar follows the arrival of solicitor estate agents Cullen Kilshaw in May. Law firm Davidson Chalmers were the first tenants to move into the TI in February 2016.

“Misty has recognised the opportunity the Transport Interchange offers to a business. It is a hub of activity for both bus and rail users and new businesses, with around 3,000 people using the facility every day. 

“That the building’s office space is now almost full is testament to its good location and transport links, which we hope will encourage more businesses to start, grow and move to the Scottish Borders.”

Transport Interchange facilities

The £5.2million Galashiels Transport Interchange has tourist information, bus and train real-time information and a railway ticket machine.

There are also showers, Changing Places toilets, bike lockers to promote cycling and walking and a cafe – run by local firm Born in the Borders – on the ground floor, with two additional floors of office space.
