We are recruiting people to serve on the River Tweed Commission.

The commission is the statutory body responsible for the general preservation and increase of all freshwater fish in the River Tweed and its tributaries, and the regulation of the fishery.

There are currently vacancies for independent Tweed Commissioners to represent the interests of the old Burghs of:

  • Berwickshire
  • Ettrick and Lauderdale
  • Roxburgh

About the role of River Tweed Commissioner              

You need to have an interest in the river and should have permanent residency in the Borders.

Appointments are for an initial three year period to sit on the River Tweed Commission which meets four times a year, currently on Monday mornings.

These are honorary appointments and no expenses are paid.

Applications are invited from individuals from across the Scottish Borders.
