Local residents have until 12noon on Monday 21 May 2018 to put their name forward to become a community councillor.
Anyone wanting to be nominated must be over 16, a resident of the valleys and be nominated and seconded by people who are on the electoral roll for the area. The community council needs at least six nominations to be able to continue.

“We are looking for people who are interested in representing their local community on the issues that matter to them. We need people who will put in some of their time to help make our area an even better place to live.
“The community council has been very effective over the last four years and I am confident that we will have plenty of people willing to be on the next one. We would particularly encourage younger residents to put themselves forward as they are currently unrepresented and their views are extremely important.”
Returning Officer, Kay Ross
“Once valid nominations have been received, there is a seven day period during which people can withdraw their nomination should they wish to do so.
“There is a strict process and timetable that we need to stick to, so I would encourage people to put their nominations in as soon as they can to meet the final deadline of 21 May.”
