Final views sought on proposal to close St Margaret’s Roman Catholic Primary School

Published: Wednesday, 07th March 2018

We are looking for final feedback on proposals to close St Margaret’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Hawick and offer pupils an alternative place at a catchment primary school.

A statutory consultation was held in accordance with the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010 from 22 November 2017 to 22 January 2018.

The feedback received from this has now been incorporated into a consultation report which will be presented at the Council meeting on 26 April for a decision on implementation of the proposals.

Consultation 8-29 March

In advance of that meeting, an additional three week consultation is being held from 8 to 29 March 2018 to give people the opportunity to submit any further comments.

The report and relevant documentation will be available online throughout the consultation period.

They will also be available at:

  • Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells
  • St Margaret’s RC Primary School, Hawick
  • Hawick Library.

Additional paper copies can be provided by contacting Children and Young People’s Services on 01835 825080.
