A two day closure of a section of the A7 road for improvements to the route will take place next month.
The road will be shut from immediately north of the Torwoodlee Golf Club junction to Bowland crossroads on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 November, from 9am to 3.30pm on both days.
The closure will allow patching and resurfacing works to take place, with motorists advised to use the A68 instead.
Buses will be able to pass through the works, although passengers are warned to expect delays. Advanced warning signs are currently in place to advise motorists about the closure.
Councillor Gordon Edgar, Executive Member for Roads and Infrastructure
“These works are the latest in a series of improvements to the stretch of the A7 road from Galashiels to the Midlothian border which SBC is responsible for.
“The Torsonce corner south of Stow was resurfaced in May this year, while the Council carried out improvements to Falahill, Crookston and the Heriot bends last year.
“The A7 is one of the busiest roads in the Borders, with around 5,400 vehicles using the northern section, but by carrying out the works between 9am and 3.30pm on both days the Council has attempted to minimise the disruption for commuters.”

We are responsible for the northern stretch of the A7 road from Kingsknowes Roundabout at Galashiels to the Midlothian boundary. Transport Scotland is responsible for the A7 south of the Kingsknowes Roundabout.
