A new £500,000 funding pot for communities in the Scottish Borders will be launched next month.
We have agreed details for the Localities Bid Fund.
Five Locality Committees will accept bids for funding from local people or groups between 15 October and 1 December. These are:
- Teviot and Liddesdale
These applications will then be reviewed by a panel of councillors and our key staff before going to a public vote early next year.
The £500,000 fund total was approved as part of the 2017/18 budget setting process in February, with the split between Locality Committees agreed on the basis of the population in each area.
Councillor Sandy Aitchison, Executive Member for Neighbourhoods and Locality Services
"We are urging people to come forward with ideas to improve community life in the Scottish Borders. This is an opportunity for them to have a real say on how money is spent in their area and what the priorities in their community should be."
