“I am delighted that the new champions have now been appointed to their specific areas of responsibility.
“They play a vital role in supporting not only the Executive Members for each relevant portfolio, but in their own right working to support and raise awareness of the issues relating to their particular remit.
“It is also fantastic to see two of our youngest councillors take up these key outward facing roles with Scott Hamilton and Kris Chapman each being given pivotal positions.
“I look forward to working with all the newly appointed champions as this Council goes forward. They will play a significant part in helping to deliver our vision of supporting the best quality of life for all the people in the Scottish Borders, prosperity for our businesses and good health and resilience for all our communities and I have no doubt that we will all benefit from the fresh perspective and enthusiasm that they will bring to their roles.”
