European Maritime Fisheries Fund

European Maritime Fisheries Fund (EMFF) is a European funding programme which supports fisheries communities to diversify within the maritime economy. 

In addition to funding for fisheries, fish processors and onshore investments there is a programme of Community Led Local Development, managed in Scotland by Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs). The Forth FLAG covers the Scottish Borders coastal area and fishing communities in East Lothian and Fife.

Apply for Forth FLAG funding

Forth FLAG funding is available to the following groups and organisations:

  • constituted community or business groups
  • public organisations and agencies
  • partnerships, trusts and social enterprises
  • fishery and maritime sector businesses

Scottish Borders harbours

In the Scottish Borders the Forth FLAG area includes the harbours at:

  • Cove
  • St Abbs
  • Eyemouth
  • Burnmouth

Grant funding levels

Grants are available at up to 50% of eligible project costs, with potential for a higher rate of support where there are collective beneficiaries.
