Community Welfare Trust

Our Welfare Trust is a registered charity and was established to assist in the:

  • prevention or the relief of poverty
  • relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage
  • advancement of health (including the advancement of education in health)

The Welfare Trust awards grants up to a maximum of:

  • £1k to non-constituted groups/individuals
  • £2.5k to fully constituted groups

How to apply

Before you submit a Community Welfare Trust application form, please ensure that your project aligns with the Purpose of the fund (column 3) and that there are sufficient funds in the Ward you wish to apply to (column 6).  Please see below for further information.

Projects must assist in the:  

Purpose A: prevention or the relief of poverty

Purpose B: relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

Purpose C: advancement of health (including the advancement of education in health)

Completed applications should be submitted to communitygrants@scotborders.gov.uk. If you require support with completing the application form, please contact the Community Grants Administrator.
