About Tweeddale

In 2015 the estimated population of Tweeddale was 20,848. Tweeddale covers the main towns and villages of:

  • Peebles (8,526)
  • Innerleithen (3,079)
  • West Linton (1,585)
  • Cardrona (887)
  • Walkerburn (679)

These settlements account for 70 per cent of the area’s population with the remainder living in settlements such as:

  • Carlops
  • Romannobridge
  • Broughton
  • Clovenfords
  • Eddleston
  • Stobo
  • Blyth Bridge
  • Skirling

Area partnership

Area partnerships look to bring together key organisations, groups, businesses and individuals from across the public, private and third sectors and from within our local communities to collectively work together. Tweeddale Area Partnership is chaired by Cllr Robin Tatler and meets five times a year across the Tweeddale area.
