Register for the Shielding Service

If you have received a Shielding letter from the Scottish Government, you can use your mobile phone to register to receive regular updates, order food parcels and request a local supermarket contact you for a priority shopping delivery slot. To register text 07860 064525.

If you don’t have a mobile phone or find it difficult to register, you can complete our simple form and we’ll get you registered. Alternatively, you can call Customer Advice and Support on 0300 100 1800 to get registered.

What’s included in the food parcel?

Items in each food parcel include:

  • Coffee - 1x50g
  • Tea bags - 40 bags
  • Biscuits - 1x300g
  • Bread - 1x800g
  • Cereal - 1x500g
  • Baked beans - 2x415g
  • Soups - 4x400g
  • Pasta - 1x500g
  • Fruit 1 - 1x5
  • Fruit 2 - 1x5
  • Shower gel - 1xunity
  • Semi-skimmed UHT milk - 2x1ltr
  • Cooking sauce - 1x350g
  • Potato (whole, washed) - 1x2kg
  • Tinned meat - 1x340g
  • Tuna - 1x450g
  • Veg (peas probably) - 2x300g
  • Chopped tomatoes - 2x400g
  • Tinned fruit - 1x410g
  • Toilet roll - 2xroll

How many food parcels can I order?

You can order one food parcel for each person in your household.

How long will a food parcel take to be delivered?

Once we have registered your details with the Scottish Government it can take up to 7 days for the parcel to be delivered.

How often will I receive a food parcel?

Once you’ve received your first parcel, you will receive the same order once a week.

How will I receive my parcel?

The company delivering the parcel will leave is outside your home.

What if will struggle to get the food parcel into my home

If you have already registered, contact Customer Advice and Support on 0300 100 1800 who can refer you to a Community Assistance Hub.

Can I specify which supermarket offers me a priority delivery slot

If you need help to register for the priority deliver slot we are unable to select a specific supermarket.
