Any one of the following is acceptable, provided it clearly shows the name and address of the applicant: 

  • Home Utility Bill (such as Gas, Electricity, Land Line Telephone) 
  • Council/Housing Association Rent Book/Statement/Letter 
  • Bank or Mortgage Statement 
  • Confirmation from an Electoral Search 
  • Television Licence 
  • DWP Letter/Disability Entitlement Letter 
  • Letter from Care or Residential Home 
  • Letter from School/University/College 
  • Award of Child Benefit Letter 
  • Letter from Local Authority confirming residency. 
  • Record of Home Visit by Council or Government Official 
  • Credit Union Statement 
  • Credit Card Statement 
  • HMRC, Home Office, Immigration Letter 
  • Occupational Pension Letter 
  • Court Order 
  • Benefit book/card or original notification 
  • Photo Driving Licence 

 For young people under 16 years of age, address evidence in the name of their parent or guardian can be accepted

Name and photograph 

  • Passport (current, UK and foreign countries) 
  • Photo driving licence including a provisional driving licence (current, UK and other EU countries) 
  • Existing PASS hologrammed card 
  • UK Border Agency Document: 
    • Asylum Registration card (ARC) 
    • Immigration Status Document (ISD)

    • Travel Document, issued by the UK government
