2023 UCI Cycling World Championships

Community and resident information

We want our communities across the Scottish Borders to welcome the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships to our area, and to benefit from it.

Thousands of visitors will be coming to the region, and they will be staying and exploring beyond the Tweed Valley, where the Championship events are taking place.

A new fund has launched to support community activities and the development of new cycling events to help deliver a long lasting legacy from hosting the Championships in the area.

Watch the world's best on your doorstep

Make sure you grab a ticket too so you can witness the world’s best cyclists compete in our region, and wherever you can, please make use of public transport, or better still, get on your bike to get to the event – there will be secure bike parking facilities at the event venue.

Traffic management

A number of park and ride sites will be in operation, with no spectator parking at Glentress itself.

Parking restrictions will also be in place to help minimise disruption for spectators, local residents and businesses.

A small number of road closures are in place to enable to cross-country marathon event to take place on Sunday 6 August. Full details can be found on our website.
