Books of Condolence

An online Book of Condolence is available on the Royal Family website .

Hard copy Books of Condolence are available to sign during office hours at the following locations. Please use the links below to check opening hours where these are not stated.

The Books of Condolence will be available until Friday 23 September.

Please note some communities and individual organisations may have established their own Books of Condolence and are managing these separately.

Residents in our care homes will be provided with the opportunity to sign Books of Condolence.

Local events

A service of reflection for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth is being held at 11am on Saturday 24 September at Wilton Parish Church, Dickson Street, Hawick. The service, which is open to all denominations, is being led by the Rev Lisa-Jane Rankin, and will be attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale and the Honorary Provost of Hawick/Convener of Scottish Borders Council. 

Flag flying

In line with protocol, Union and Saltire flags on our buildings were raised to full mast at 8am on Tuesday 20 September.
