Lockdown response

Service Information

The Scottish Government introduced a lockdown for mainland Scotland from 5 January.

This has had some impact on our services and schools.

Please follow the FACTS guidance and all restrictions in place.

Supporting Communities

Community Assistance Hubs will continue to operate to support those in critical need in all our communities and co-ordinate support across a range of partners and community groups.

Anyone in need of help and support can contact their local hub through 0300 100 1800 when this service is available, or through the emergency out-of-hours number at all other times.

Full details of education arrangements can be found on our dedicated webpage.

Care Homes

In line with national Level 4 restrictions, there is currently no indoor visiting at care homes, apart from essential visits.

Window visiting is allowed, by prior arrangement.

Supported by our Inspire Learning programme, iPad devices have been provided to all SB Cares-operated care homes to enable families to keep in contact with loved ones, especially where they live outwith the area and will be affected by the enhanced travel restrictions in place.

Other social care services

All home care services will continue to operate as normal.

Enhanced social work services will operate to ensure all those in need are supported.

Where any other support service user is affected by restrictions to services under new restrictions they will be contacted directly to advise of the changes and any alternative arrangements.

Other services

Waste and recycling collections and Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) will continue to operate as normal. However, in line with Scottish Government guidance on travel, please only use our CRCs if this is essential.

Funding is available to businesses affected by the current restrictions.
