COVID-19 community testing
Around a third of people with COVID-19 do not show symptoms, COVID-19 testing is an important tool to identify cases which may otherwise go undetected. This enables us to break chains of transmission and limit the spread of this virus.
Universal Lateral Flow Device (LFD) COVID-19 testing is available for everyone in Scotland. Home test kits are available to anyone who does not have COVID-19 symptoms.
For full details on the Borders community testing programme, visit the NHS website.
Community Assistance Hubs will continue to operate to support those in critical need in all our communities and co-ordinate support across a range of partners and community groups.
Anyone in need of help and support can contact their local hub through 0300 100 1800 when this service is available, or through the emergency out-of-hours number at all other times.
Care home visits are currently allowed by prior arrangement. Please contact care homes directly to arrange.
Other social care services
All home care services will continue to operate as normal.
Enhanced social work services will operate to ensure all those in need are supported.
Where any other support service user is affected by restrictions to services under new restrictions they will be contacted directly to advise of the changes and any alternative arrangements.
Waste and recycling collections and Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) continue to operate as normal.
Funding is available to businesses affected by COVID-19.
