Borders - regional priorities
The Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) is a programme of economic, environmental and social measures, worth some £1.5 billion, designed to develop rural Scotland from 2007 to 2013. Individuals, businesses and groups may seek support to help deliver the Government's strategic objectives in rural Scotland.
The priorities for the programme are set out across three broad axes:
- business viability and competitiveness
- biodiversity
- rural communities.
and nine theme headings:
- business viability and competitiveness priorities (priority 1-7)
- biodiversity priorities (priority 8-12)
- landscape priorities (priority 13-14)
- built and cultural heritage priorities (priority 15)
- water and soils priorities (priority 16-20)
- adaptations to mitigate climate change priorities (priority 21-24)
- public access priorities (priority 25)
- diversification of rural enterprise priorities (priority 26-30)
- thriving rural communities priorities (priority 31-32).
