History and Highlights

The final phase of the Heart of Hawick project is the redevelopment of displays in Drumlanrig’s Tower. During 2008 many of the usual display rooms are closed to allow work to begin.

Ground Floor

  • A small exhibition showcasing the plans for the new displays exploring the textile heritage of the Scottish Borders - Past, Present & Future.
  • Books, heritage gifts and souvenirs from our shop.

First Floor

  • Tom Scott Room, showing a selection of the artist’s finest paintings.
  • A new interactive display which illustrates the full range of Tom Scott paintings in the Scottish Borders Council Museum collection will be available from May 2008.

Please note: The Steve Hislop ('Hizzy') Memorial exhibition has moved to Hawick Museum and is due to open June 2008.
