The visitor centre and play park are closed 1st November - 31st March.
Access routes and neighbouring craft businesses are open all year.

Harestanes has mountain biking activities on Thursdays 29 July, 5 and 12 August which are a late addition to the programme.

Walking and Cycling
Discover the beauty of the surrounding countryside from our range of routes. Harestanes sits on St Cuthbert's Way.long-distance path, a day's walk from Melrose.
A dense network of quiet public roads provides plenty of choice for cyclists, from shorter routes around Jedburgh to the 55 mile circular '4 Abbeys Cycle Route' which passes through Harestanes. The visitor centre has dedicated cycle parking.
Delicious Food and Gifts
Discover great toys, books and local honey in our refurbished shop. Enjoy Gill Orde's FairTrade tea and coffee, home-baking and local ice cream in our recently renovated tea room.
Group Visits
Help for outdoor environmental topics is available for groups and schools. Large room available to hire for birthday parties, meetings and training events.Disabled Access
The ground floor is wheelchair-accessible (first floor games room is not accessible). Paved parking at main door. A courtesy wheelchair is available for indoor use. There is an induction loop for hearing-aid users in the Exhibition Room.Travel by Bus
The nearest bus services stop on request at the A68 / B6400 junction, 15 minutes' walk from the visitor centre. The B6400 is a fairly quiet road but without a pavement.
