Out and About

Holiday Programmes

Sport is playing an increasing role in improving the quality of life and people now have a higher expectation from sport than ever before. They therefore require quality opportunities and choices to enable them to enjoy and participate in activities. These activities can contribute to their physical, emotional and social well-being.

Scottish Borders Council's Sport Development & Active Schools staff work together with Border Sport and Leisure Trust (BSLT) to produce opportunities for youngsters to take part in a variety of sports and physical activity during the school holidays.

October Sports 2009!

There’s no excuse for youngsters across the Scottish Borders being bored during the October holidays with another jam-packed Sports and Physical Activity Programme on offer from Scottish Borders Council’s (SBC) Sports Development team, Active Schools staff and Border Sport and Leisure Trust (BSLT). The programme is available now and includes a balanced and cost effective range of sports and activities including athletics, disability sports, SFA football, badminton, hockey, kidz club, activity clubs and watersports.

Activities run in various different locations from 10 to 18 October.

Pupils will be receiving their programmes and application forms from school over the next week. For extra copies, or for more information call the hotline 01896 759913.
