Getting Here by Road

Whilst the Borders does not boast motorway standard road access, this is often seen as a benefit by those who come here for a peaceful getaway holiday. Traffic jams just do not exist in the Borders - listen to local radio reports!

That's not to say that the Borders is hard to reach, or travel around in. Road travel is more than adequate with numerous principal routes coming into or through the area.

Reaching us by bus
Regular services run from Carlisle and Edinburgh to towns in the Central Borders. Details of these, along with services from Newcastle in the south, Berwick in the east and Biggar in the west can be found by using Traveline.
