We have a duty to maintain the Scottish Borders road network and we publish a weekly list of major works on roads, bridges, lighting and event related traffic instructions which cover works:
- on traffic sensitive routes
- employing temporary traffic lights or other forms of traffic management likely to cause delays
- that require a road closure.
The weekly report is published here on our website and circulated to the emergency services.
Roadworks information is collected through statutory notifications made to the Scottish Roadworks register as well as from our own departments.
Reporting roadworks on trunk roads
Certain major roads, known as trunk roads, are not our responsibility. These include:
- A7 south of Galashiels
- A68
- A1
- A702
- A6091.
Transport Scotland is responsible for trunk roads and queries should be made to their operating company BEAR Scotland on 0845 413 0200.
