Getting Around
The links on this page provide information on travel in the Scottish Borders area, how we (the Council) look after the public roads and the location and duration of roadworks and road closures. There is even some information on leisure travel (to help you make the most of the beautiful scenery the area has to offer).

Fancy sharing a lift?
Residents of the Scottish Borders now have the opportunity to sign up to a car-sharing scheme. The scheme, tripshareborders.com provides details of drivers who are willing
to car share or seeking a lift not just locally, but nationally. The scheme is funded by the Scottish Executive through
the South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SESTRAN) and supported by Scottish Borders Council.
Here in the Council we are leading the way with our own scheme to encourage our staff to share a lift to work. If you work for the Council, or even know someone who does, see the Council's own tripshare page.
