Scottish Borders Festival of Walking 2008 / 2009
Galashiels (30th Aug -6th Sept 2008) was proud to welcome the 14th Scottish Borders Festival of Walking. Now over, the week long celebration of walking and the countryside catered for all ages and abilities.
There is now a Photo-CD and DVD available to remind you of your time at the Festival.
The week long event offered a diverse range of 50 walks all exploring the rich wildlife, fascinating geology, intriguing history and remarkable archaeology associated with the Scottish Borders. After the walks, walkers enjoyed an array of evening entertainment.
Galashiels was an ideal base for the event. The town is within easy reach of the Moorfoot, Lammermuir and Cheviot hill ranges, the Yarrow, Ettrick and Tweed Valleys and surrounded by rich farmland and lush countryside.

Scottish Borders Festival of Walking 2009
The planning of the Scottish Borders Festival of Walking 2009, "In the Footsteps of Reivers", is now under way. The Homecoming Scotland 2009 event is to be based in and around the historic towns of Jedburgh and Hawick.
