We together with the Youth Music Initiative (YMI) ran a very successful traditional music workshop weekend for children and young people in the Jedburgh Community and Arts Centre back in November.
The Jethart Folk Music Weekend had an all star cast of tutors in Mat Clements, Matt Seattle, Kim Hendry, James Wyness, Shona Mooney and Kaela Rowan, running classes in fiddle, guitar, percussion, traditional song and group work.Councillor Graham Garvie, Executive Member for Culture, Sport and Community Learning, said: "The Jethart Folk Music Weekend successfully brought together children and young people from communities to learn about and play traditional music. The weekend culminated in a very impressive show of music from all the participants throughout the weekend, where families enjoyed listening to the Jethart Folk Big Band."
