Schoolgirl wins £350 of sporting equipment from the Council

Wednesday, October 5 2005

Scottish Borders Council's Sports Development Unit this week presented Jenny Noble, a pupil at Kingsland Pimary School in Peebles, with £350 of sports equipment for her school.

Jenny won the equipment after correctly completing all the questions in the sporting quiz run by the Sports Development Unit as part of its holiday sports course this Summer.

Neil Renton, SBC's Sports Development Officer, said, "Kingsland Primary School has won this equipment through Jenny's wide sporting knowledge and her own personel interest in sport. Jenny entered the quiz and was drawn out of the hat first from the hundreds of entries. On behalf of the Unit, I would like to congratulate Jenny. I am sure that her PE Teacher, Elizabeth Fletcher, and all of her friends will put the equipment to good use."

SBC has another exciting programme planned for the October Break. Leaflets will be distributed through Borders schools next week.
