Council refuses planning application for Toddleburn wind farm

Wednesday, August 31 2005

Scottish Borders Councillors today voted to refuse a planning application for the formation of a 12-turbine wind farm at Toddleburn, Oxton.

In a motion proposed by Councillor George Russell and seconded by Councillor Douglas Younger, councillors voted seven to three to reject the application at a meeting of SBC's Development and Building Control Meeting at Council HQ in Newtown St Boswells.

Two other wind farm applications were also refused by councillors at the meeting - one for a 19-turbine wind farm at Halkburn Farm and Bow Farm near Stow, and the other for a 19-turbine wind farm at Sell Moor, Lauder.

An application for a wind farm at Fallago Rig is to be continued and carried over to a future meeting.
