Recycling roadshow reaches Galashiels

Galashiels householders have the chance to learn more about Scottish Borders Council's kerbside recycling scheme this week.
The Recycling Information Caravan is in the Tesco carpark today (Wednesday 24 August) and tomorrow (Thursday 25 August). It will be open from 11am to 2pm and from 5pm to 7pm each day.
As new wheeled bins and recycling bags are delivered across the Ettrick and Lauderdale area, the Recycling Information Caravan takes information about the Council scheme to affected residents. Roxburgh is already using the scheme and the rest of the Scottish Borders will receive their new wheeled bins and recycling bags over the coming year.
Residents can start using their grey-lidded wheeled bin for general waste as soon as they receive it. The kerbside recycling collections will start in October.
On display in the Recycling Information Caravan will be examples of the wheeled bins, the coloured recycling sacks and a home
composter and members of the recycling team will be on hand to answer questions.

The Recycling Information Caravan will also have displays about other ways you can help make a difference to the environment.
Next week, the Recycling Caravan will be in Melrose on Tuesday 30 August and Selkirk on Wednesday 31 August.
