Ettrick Valley bus service

Friday, August 5 2005

Following a review carried out earlier this year of public transport in the Ettrick Valley, a new contract has been awarded to Wardlaw Jackson to continue providing a local bus service to and from Selkirk on Mondays to Fridays.

The timetable will be revised from Monday 22 August, with the morning bus now leaving Ettrick School at 0700 and Ettrickbridge at 0730, and arriving in Selkirk Square at 0750. This will provide a connection with First service X95 at 0755 for onward travel to Galashiels and Edinburgh.

At the public's request, the afternoon journey to Ettrick is re-timed to leave Selkirk Square at 1715. When improvements to First service X95 are introduced later this year, a connection will be available from Edinburgh and Galashiels.

Following concerns from parents attending Kirkhope Primary School at Ettrickbridge, the 0805 departure from Selkirk is being retained, but will in future operate only during school term-time.
