Temporary Relocation of Peebles Contact Centre
Wednesday, January 13 2010
The Council’s Contact Centre on Peebles High Street will close from Monday 18 January as part of the preparations for the development of a new joint facility with VisitScotland which is due to open in early summer.
A temporary contact centre will operate in the interim period from the existing reception counters at the County Buildings, Rosetta Road.
Commenting on the moves, Councillor Cook, Executive Member for Corporate Improvement, said: “This is the first of a sequence of moves needed to prepare for the development of the new Joint Contact Centre. Once the current Contact Centre is vacated, the building will be prepared for VisitScotland as a temporary Visitor Information Centre. Social Work will move on a permanent basis from the High Street to the County Buildings, Rosetta Road in mid-February. This will leave the ground floor of the building clear for construction to commence in late February. Further details of these other moves will be published soon.
“Over the interim period, the full range of existing Council services will be provided by the same experienced Customer Services staff at our offices at Rosetta Road and the same services can be dealt with over the telephone using our Customer Services number 0300 100 1800.”
