Exhibition at Old Gala House explores life of Archie Cochrane CBE

Wednesday, July 9 2008

Sir Iain Chalmers, founder of the Cochrane Collaboration, will formally open a new exhibition at Old Gala House which explores the remarkable life of Archie Cochrane CBE entitled ‘Body, Heart and Mind’ on 11 July 2008.

The display looks at the life of one of the town’s most illustrious sons - Archie Cochrane who was born just a few doors up from Old Gala House in 1909.

Archie’s story is a fascinating one with family tragedy, academic achievement, gallant military service and professional dedication and expertise which led to a host of honours including both an MBE (military) and a CBE.

You are cordially invited to send a media representative/photographer to the launch of the exhibition.

Doors open to the public on Saturday 12 July. Admission is free but there is no wheelchair access to exhibition.  For opening times telephone 01896 752611 or 01750 20096.
