Chirnside Primary School reaches national Euroquiz final

“Where did Anne Frank write her famous diary during the Second World War?” “What is the capital of Hungary?” “Geographically, which is the smallest member state of the EU?” “In which year are the next elections for the European parliament?”
If you don’t know the answers, just ask the Borders primary six pupils who recently took part in this year’s ‘Euroquiz’ organised by the Scottish European Educational Trust.
Burgh, Priorsford and Chirnside primary schools recently took part in the Borders final heat of the Scotland-wide ‘Euroquiz’ and it was the team of four pupils from Chirnside Primary School who came out victorious. They scored 100 points out of a possible 120 on a series of questions covering history, geography, sport, culture, the EU and general knowledge.
The Chirnside team will join the other 25 teams from the rest of Scotland in the national final at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh later this month.
