Big Lottery Fund Comes To Town
Tuesday, March 11 2008
Are you looking for funding to develop a project in your community? If so then this event is for you.
Scottish Borders Council, in partnership with The Bridge and Berwickshire Association of Voluntary Service, will welcome the Big Lottery Fund, the largest of all the National Lottery good cause distributors, to the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels on Thursday 20 March at 10am.
Throughout the morning, representatives from the Big Lottery Fund will be on hand to pass on information about Fund, the various programmes they offer and give some insight into what makes a good funding application.
Groups with projects that fit the Big Lottery Fund’s Investing in Communities Programme* can also arrange an individual interview with the Fund’s officers to discuss their project in detail. Also on the day, information will be available about the other Big Lottery Fund programmes such as Awards for All and People’s Millions.
Morag Walker, Executive Officer of The Bridge said: “This is an excellent opportunity to meet a key national funder right here in the Borders. I really feel that such an opportunity to speak directly to a key funder such as BIG is crucial to the support we provide to local community groups and voluntary organisations. By working together we can support communities to take forward a range of community action projects, help them secure future funding and help them to deliver what is important to them. Everyone is welcome to attend. It is a rare local opportunity to find out what BIG can offer you and your community.”
Anyone interested in having an interview with BIG staff should call 0870 240 2391 for an allocated appointment time.
