Proposed One Way and Weight Restriction Order For Hawick

Announcement of an experimental Traffic Regulation Order in Hawick.
The Teviot and Liddesdale Area Committee has agreed to the preparation of an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order in Hawick to include a weight restriction of 7.5tonnes maximum gross weight (except for access) on various streets and a one way restriction on the High Street between the Horse and Towerknowe (see this PDF document for details).
The proposed order is currently open for public comments and objections and these will be discussed by the Teviot and Liddesdale Area Committee at a meeting on 22/01/2008. If (following this meeting) the Area Committee agree to introduce the scheme it will come into effect on Saturday 2/2/2008.
