Convener proud of SBC
Alasdair Hutton said: “I continue to be very proud of the way the members of Scottish Borders Council's staff are constantly improving what they do to make the Council more responsive to the needs of the people of the Borders.
“The Council continues to be recognised for excellence in different areas with awards but they are only the tip of the iceberg. Underneath is a huge amount of first class work which often goes unsung.
“Christmas gives us the time to reflect on the year that is away and how we can make the next year better.
“Christmas should also be a happy time when families are united and people can relax together for a few days. But as we enjoy the company of the people around us we should never forget that first Christmas when the Holy Family was forced to shelter in a stable while their first child was born.
“Nor should we forget the plight of those people who are on their own and without the cheer of friends this Christmas. If we can spare a little time for them it would go a long way towards making theirs a Happy Christmas too.”
