LocalView puts the Scottish Borders on the map
Monday, November 26 2007
A new online facility has been launched by Scottish Borders Council. It gives residents the chance to report a fault to the council, day and night.
It also offers a wide range of information about local services and amenities.
At Scottish Borders Council's LocalView at http://maps.scotborders.gov.uk/localview, residents can find out about their nearest
council contact centre, school, play area, recycling site, and GP and much more.
The mapping system uses an address location or a pinpoint on the map. Online visitors simply enter their postcode and then
select an address to access the details (including web links) for their area.
The system also enables residents to report directly to the council details and the exact map location of faults including
potholes, graffiti, fly tipping and street lighting.
Councillor Carolyn Riddell-Carre, Executive Member for Planning and Economic Development said:”LocalView is great for staff,
councillors, local people and visitors, and those thinking about moving into the area or moving elsewhere in the area.”
