Sea Sculpture exhibition at Harestanes

Wednesday, October 24 2007

Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre near Ancrum is currently host to a powerful new exhibition of sculpture and mosaics from Broughton-based artist Susheila Jamieson.

The exhibition, entitled ‘Sea Change’, takes its inspiration from the coast around Cockenzie power station in East Lothian and alludes to the impacts of climate change. The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Wednesday 31 October.

Centre Manager Michael Scott said: “Susheila’s sculptures evoke patterns in nature; waves, ripples and sea movements.  This is a great opportunity to experience the work of one of the region’s most popular and accessible artists.”

Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre, Ancrum, Jedburgh, is part of Scottish Borders Council’s Education & Lifelong Learning department. The visitor centre has a Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold Award and four-star quality grading from VisitScotland.
