Discover Scotland’s Secret War at Hawick Museum

Visitors to Hawick Museum can discover the hidden stories of World War II in the new exhibition called ‘Scotland’s Secret War’.
From the Tartan Pimpernel to the inventor of radar - the exhibition tells the hidden stories of the Scots, whose inventiveness and courage helped change the course of World War II.
Visitors will be able to uncover these stories through ‘interactive filing cabinets’ with copies of photos, letters, documents and maps from the National Library of Scotland. War objects, a war map table and text panels will also be on display.
The exhibition runs from now till 2 September 2007. Admission is free and opening hours are Monday-Friday 10a.m.-12noon & 1p.m.-5p.m. and Sat-Sun 2p.m.-5p.m.
Summer holiday workshops about WWII espionage will accompany the exhibition on 8and 15 August and will include activities such as making a decoder, home made radios, decoding, Morse code etc.
