Save money and help the environment - share a lift

Trip share Borders dot com. Start the day with a pick me up. Residents of the Scottish Borders now have the opportunity to sign up to a car-sharing scheme.  The scheme provides details of drivers who are willing to car share or seeking a lift not just locally, but nationally.

www.tripshareborders.com has been created to help you quickly and easily find someone who shares your specific journeys.

  • Free to use you simply share your travel costs
  • Find drivers and passengers anywhere instantly
  • Help reduce congestion
  • Help reduce pollution
  • Our average user saves £1,090 per year
  • 134,019 members and over a million journeys registered
  • Stay anonymous if you want, just take a look!

The tripshare scheme is funded by the Scottish Executive through the South East of Scotland Transport Partnership (SESTRAN) and supported by Scottish Borders Council.

Register or subscribe to browse through a national network of millions of journey profiles in a fun, easy and innovative way.

The Council shows the way

Here in the Council we are leading the way with our own scheme to encourage our staff to share a lift to work. If you work for the Council, or even know someone who does, see the Council's own tripshare page.
