Deadline approaches for Council business survey
Friday, July 21 2006
Businesses in the Borders are being urged not to delay in responding to a region-wide questionnaire to help Scottish Borders Council improve its services and facilities.
The survey, Supporting Business, has been sent to every business in the Borders by the Council to discover how well it is fulfilling its statutory and regulatory functions. Completed surveys should be returned to the Council by Monday, 31 July.
So far nearly 500 responses have been received, detailing levels of satisfaction with waste collection, parking provision, trading standards, licensing, environmental health, planning, building standards and rates revaluation.
“We want to hear from as many businesses as possible to give us a clear idea of how ‘business friendly’ Council services are,” explained Councillor Vicky Davidson, chair of the working party of SBC’s Scrutiny Committee which is carrying out the review with the Scottish Borders Federation of Small Businesses. “Our aim is to make the Scottish Borders an excellent place to do business. We want to encourage businesses to locate and grow in the Borders, and it is important that we ensure we do everything we can to meet their needs and make the process as easy as possible.”
Those businesses who have not received the questionnaire, or who no longer have a copy, can still take part in the survey by going online to Scottish Borders Council’s website (www.scotborders.gov.uk) or following the link: www.scotborders.gov.uk/survey4business
