Borders youngsters look forward to an active Summer
Friday, June 16 2006
Borders youngsters are in for a treat during the summer holidays, thanks to the jam-packed Summer Sports and Physical Activity Programme for 2006.
Scottish Borders Council's Sports Development Unit and the Active Schools Co-ordinator team have combined to offer a comprehensive
sports and activity programme which is full of fun activities for all ages across the region.
Courses include athletics, football, tennis, cricket, hip-hop dance, basketball, gymnastics and various 'Kidz Clubs'. All
the coaches are qualified and are selected for their experience and enthusiasm when working with youngsters.
Neil Renton of the Sports Development Unit explained, "The aim is to provide a wide range of quality courses across the region over the holiday period, and the team has worked hard together to ensure that the requirements of all age groups are met."
Pupils will receive the leaflets at school soon. The message is: Get active this summer and join in the fun!
